Butter Chicken. Butter chicken recipe, preparation time 25 minutes, cooking time 23 minutes plus standing time, serves 4-6 people.

 

Butter Chicken

Preparation Time: 25 minutes

Microwave Cooking Time: 23 minutes plus standing time

Serves: serves 4-6 people

Ingredients:
45m1/1 1/22 oz/3 tbsps butter
1 onion, finely chopped
1 small piece ginger, grated
3 cloves garlic, crushed
2.5ml/ 1/2 tsp chili powder
2.5mI/ 1/2 tsp ground cumin
2.5ml/ 1/2 tsp ground coriander
1.25ml/ 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
3 whole cloves
1 bay leaf
3 cardamoms, crushedB
15m1/1 tbsp flour
lkg/2 1/4 lbs chicken, skinned, boned and shredded
140m1/ 1/4 pint/ 1/2 cup chicken stock
400g/14oz canned tomatoes, crushed
Salt
140m1/ 1/4 pint/ 1/2 cup natural yogurt


Garnish
Tomato Wedges



 

Melt butter for 1 minute on HIGH and add the onion, ginger, garlic and spices. Cook 2 minutes on HIGH and stir in the flour. Add the bay leaf, cardamoms, cloves and chicken shreds. Gradually stir in the chicken stock and tomatoes. Cover and cook on HIGH for 20 minutes or until the chicken is tender. Stir occasionally while cooking. Add the yogurt and leave to stand 3-5 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and serve with tomato wedges.
