Microwave Massacre

Microwave Massacre - a genial black comedy - was made with a small budget but lots of heart. Stand-up comic Jackie Vernon plays a guy whose wife will only cook 'cultured' or 'gourmet' foods. Eventually he snaps, kills her, microwaves the corpse, chops it up, and hides the pieces in the fridge. After accidentally eating a portion of the remains, he develops an insatiable appetite for flesh (young and female).

Unfortunately, our cannibal has a pacemaker and, needless to say, his cooking with a microwave disrupts the gadget and Donald dies. His friends Philip and Roosevelt are unfortunate to find him and a microwave full of body parts.

Everyone involved, particularly Vernon, director Wayne Berwick, and co-producer Craig Muckler had a grand time, never taking anything too seriously. The result is a tiny film that has remained popular, considered by many to be one of the better 'bad films' of all time.

The art direction (as most of the film) was done on the run. The main special effect was the microwaved head of the wife, which could retain her dreadful scowl.

Overall, this lowbrow, low-budget horror/comedy is truly awful but it is funny to watch comedian Vernon deliver some horrible jokes with a straight face. So bad, it is watchable! .
